Ghabsiyya’s impressive mosque has been at the centre of a struggle by the internal refugees to be allowed to to repair the building and pray there again. Permission has been consistently refused, and by early 2005 the authorities had “wrapped” the building in razor wire to keep the refugees out. (August 2005)
