Thousands line the streets of Sakhnin in the Galilee on March 30 2003 to mark Land Day. Marches have been held in the town every year since 1976, when Israeli police broke up a strike by killing six unarmed Arab citizens protesting against a wave of confiscations of local farming land. Since then, much of Sakhnin’s land has been transferred to rural Jewish communities from which Arab citizens are banned
