Police usually observe such events, which the state regards as left-wing provocation, but in this case the police involvement was welcome. Youth members of Kach, a militant religious organisation that subscribes to the fascist views of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane, who demanded all Arabs be expelled from the Holy Land, were shouting threats nearby (February 2005).
