Abdel Hameed Mobayd, a 47-year-old council repairman, relives the night of November 9 2002 when the Israeli army took him hostage in Jenin and turned him into a human shield. For three hours he was made to enter buildings at gunpoint as soldiers searched for Islamic Jihad leader Iyad Sawalha. At the end of his ordeal he was caught in the middle of a gunbattle. Here he stands in the hideout cave where Sawalha was shot dead. (November 2002)
